Two Capitals Updates Myspace Layout

May 11th, 2008 by Jeff Blickenstaff

Two Capitals (a new band I’ve started with my roommate Corben Nichols) has just made major visual updates to our myspace page:

www.myspace.com/TwoCapitals

We just recently purchased more new recording equipment, so our sound quality should be improving with the next round of recordings. We hope to have a live e.p. recorded by the end of the month.

Go check out our myspace page, add us if you haven’t already and we’ll keep you posted with the latest and greatest.

Jeff Blickenstaff + Corben Nichols = Two Capitals

April 27th, 2008 by Jeff Blickenstaff

Corben and I have been playing guitar together for quite some time. We finally decided we should get a little more serious about it and started writing songs together. We are called Two Capitals.

We just started a Myspace Music page so we can upload our recordings and let people know about shows and such. It’s pretty barren right now (two songs… one of them being instrumental), but we plan to upload some videos of us playing soon.

Go check it out if you’re interested and be sure to add us so you can stay current with what we’re up to.

Foals - Electric Bloom (Edwin Van Cleef Remix)

April 24th, 2008 by Cody Marx Bailey

From “The Fast Life”:

British pumping Edwin Van Cleef left another submission for the Foals Remix Comepetition of “Electric Bloom” behind, stepping around as “a different one with more of a danger/alan braxe feel if I had to describe it I guess. I don’t know how those two mix really but anyway,” go for it to catch this soft Uk-Kid-Version.

As extragimmick today Edwin is tempting you with the own banger “Paradroid” punching the teeth out of your cannon, before your mother is calling you to eat up your marbled escalope.

In celebration of the show, I’ve uploaded a song we’ve been working on (no words yet) to my Myspace Music page. Check it out on my Myspace Music page. I hope you enjoy.

Songbird:iTunes :: Firefox:IE

March 31st, 2008 by Cody Marx Bailey

There’s nothing I love more than analogies - well except for the 0.5 release of Songbird, the music player based on the mozilla engine. It is in the Firefox, Thunderbird, Mozilla family of applications. Built on the open-source, open-standard philosophy of making damn good software. It has rich integration with sites like last.fm and hype machine. Check it out and give it a spin. It’s still in beta, so go easy on it.

Texas Solar Energy

March 25th, 2008 by Cody Marx Bailey

Solar power is on the verge of hitting the big-time, close to achieving a scale and affordability that will allow it to replace dirty coal-fired power plants and significantly reduce global warming pollution.

But a Texas agency has proposed rules that will create a serious barrier to solar’s widespread deployment. One of the ways solar can be cost-effective is if a homeowner is given credit by their utility for excess electricity put back on to the grid, known as “net-metering.”

On Friday, the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) issued a surprise proposed rule which create heavy burdens on customers wanting to install solar panels and provide financial rewards to the utilities, but provide no guarantees that customers who generate surplus electricity will ever get paid.

Tell the PUC to go back to the drawing board and develop a rule that will help grow solar power and make sure consumers are fairly compensated:

SpaceCollective

No, it’s not a band. It’s a really interesting project I found while zigging and zagging around the net. I’ve been on this futurism/transhumanism kick for the last several months and things only got more serious after BIL. I found this neat video on Space Collective.
